The Junior Regatta always starts with a burst of mass chaos as everyone tries to unload and rig their boats, register, and figure out the race coarse.
As you can see... the chaos moves from the grass down to the beach.
Then everything goes quiet and Moms get a chance to kick back and relax with the younger children on the beach.
Love the hat.
We come in for lunch. Lunch is always a little less chaotic than the morning... the boats spread out along the shore and the tired and hot sailors come in for hot dogs a soda, chips and a cookie.
One of my all time favorite shots. Most Opti kids panic at the start, but this young sailor exudes confidence.
Every kid should sail before they drive drive a car.
We had a very strong tide during our first start, which totally confused the Green fleeters who kept going to the wrong side of the line. Here Chris tells them like it is..."go over there!"
End of day, everyone has gone home and the members are left to clean up. Another Junior Regatta under our belt.
